For two weeks now, the City of Sydney has been busy celebrating Chinese New Year. It's reportedly the biggest Chinese New Years celebration in a city outside of Asia.
After a week of rain and with heaven's blessing, the skies cleared just in time for the annual Chinese New Year parade.
Thousands attended the Chinese New Year parade featuring local and overseas performers. Crowds lined the parade route from Town Hall, through Chinatown, to Darling Harbour's Tumbalong Park.
Members of Sydney's Chinese community and a special visiting contingent from Shaanxi, China provided elaborate costumes and dazzling displays with plenty of colour, drums and cymbals to keep the crowds entertained.
