Re:3rd overall in Asian Championships. 6 bronze medal - 2006/09/29 19:48 Thank you Suzyk for your info.

I have a few more questions hoping you or anyone could help me with.

A friend told me differently to what i heard. She told me that during training for Macau, the Australia institute of sport was involved with dragonboating thats why aussquad has to travel to canberra to train for some weekends. I think its not true but she was convinced by it.

I am pretty sure that we have only one Australia team which is the Aussquad. she told me that there are two australia teams. both will compete in Macau and after that one goes home (australia) and the other australia team will continuing on o compete in other country. she isnt sure which country and the whole trip would take about 18-19 days.

last but not least, when is the aussquad be back from macau. i am thinking of going to the airport to welcome them all.

thank you muchly.
cheers.

Re:3rd overall in Asian Championships. 6 bronze medal - 2006/09/30 01:58 Hi Jessie

There is only one Australian team that represents Australia in the international stage and is honoured with the Australian emblem and crest on their uniforms.

The crew consisted of about 68 paddlers this year.

However, there was a group that was able to take the leave off work and have continued after Macau to compete in an international race in Bizhou, China where they claimed GOLD. This is not the Australian team but a team that includes members of the Australian team that competed in the Macau 7th Asian Dragonboat Championships.

We did not train down in Canberra. We were not involved to my knowledge with the Australian Institute of Sport (though it would be great I think).

One group has already returned from Macau (those not racing in China).. whilst the other group currently in China should return around 3/4th October. I'm not sure of the exact date and time of flight. Sorry.

May I ask who you are supporting? Do you paddle with a particular club?

Re:3rd overall in Asian Championships. 6 bronze me - 2006/10/03 23:32 Why not come join us for some paddling. Promise we won't bite.

You'll get to experience totally new things when you start to paddle for a club. With your enthusiam in supporting dragon boat racing, I'm sure you'll be able to rise up to the challenge.

C'mon, what's there to lose?
