100 Pushup Challenge - 2008/09/13 10:39 G'day All,

I am thinking of participating in a 100 pushups challenge. Who's with me?

Essentially the aim is to build, over the course of 6 weeks strength to do 100 consecutive pushups. The program is simply laid out at the hundredpushups.com website.

The benefits for dragon boating are:

  • ...will develop the pectoral muscles and triceps, with ancillary benefits to the deltoids, serratus anterior, coracobrachialis and the midsection as a whole. - This will result in a stronger stroke!

  • We can psych out our opponents more effectively on race day!

And well, being able to do 100 consecutive pushups is cool.

Girls, you're included too! The onehundred website outlines several variations if you can't do a full pushup off the toes.

We can use this thread to track our progress - so spread the word! I'm thinking of starting soon. Once we have a few contenders, we can set a date to complete the final 100 set, maybe at training

One Hundred Pushups - Bring It!

Cheers,

Xav

Re:100 Pushup Challenge - 2008/09/16 22:15 Hi everyone,

So Tristan is quite the gun, doing one arm pushups (after the training session no less) - with this level of confidence, he's thrown the gauntlet down. The two arm version should be a walk in the park for him!

Tristan seems up for the 100 pushup challenge!

Girls, not to be outdone, Georgie coyly said she can do about 74, right now! Can she break the magic 100?

Georgie seems up for the 100 pushup challenge!

Hopefully I'll get time to run through the initial test sometime in the next couple of days...
