How does the Community Forum work?
The
Community Forum provides a place for people to exchange ideas, seek advise,
solicit opinions, and to ask for assistance. At its heart are the message
boards, where members post questions and answers.
Due to spam abuse, you must register to post in the forums.
|
- Guests (un-registered visitors) may browse for information on any of
the forums designated as public viewing boards.
- Registered members can post messages, track discussions, and get
email notifications on new posting activity. They cannot see boards designated
for ACCA members.
- ACCA members can do everything that a registered member can do, including access to any of the forums designated as ACCA member only boards.

Setting preferred View Type?
This option sets
the default format for all boards in the community. This option can be
overridden in individual boards and by registered users.
|
- Threaded (
) - Traditional message board format. Replies to a message are
listed under the original message, indented as in an outline. Good for picking
individual messages out, not so good for following a particular thread.
- Flat (
) - Only the original post in a thread is shown on the main
screen. Clicking on the headline brings up a page with all the replies shown
together. Good for reading a whole thread all at once.

What is a "thread?"
When one or more people
reply to a particular message, a "thread" is created. A thread is a series of
posts that go together. If you've ever heard of someone "following the thread of
a conversation," you get the idea.
If you post a new message, then that starts a new thread. If you reply to an
existing message, then that message becomes part of the original message's
thread.
Back

What is a sticky Thread?
A sticky ( ) topic is a
special post that causes a post to sort to the top of a forum.
Back
To Top
What is a Locked Thread?
A locked ( ) thread is a
special post that does not allow replies. Once an administrator/moderator locks
a thread no more posts are allowed.

Why can’t I access a forum I know exists?
If
you are attempting to access a forum that you know exists, but can't find it.
The first cause could be that the forum you are attempting to access is private and
you are not signed in. The second cause could be that the forum requires the
registered user to also be a paid up club member. The third cause could be that the forum has
been removed.
Refer to, How
does the Community Forum work?

How do I post a message?
To post a message,
choose one of the available forum topics and click the
button (located above and below each forum). On the post message page you will
see a Subject area and a Body area. Please make sure you choose a meaningful
title for the thread, so that it can be found later through the search function.
When you are happy with your message, click the Submit Post button. Your message
will be added to forum and everyone will be able to read it.
If you do not see the New Topic image button you may not have enough
permissions – even after logging in – to post a message to the forum even though
you are allowed to view the forum.

How do I reply to a message?
To reply to a
message, use the
button (located at the base of the thread) to write a response to a particular
post. You'll see a screen similar to the Post Message screen. There are a few
differences:
|
- When you reply to a post, the subject line will be filled in for you
automatically. You can change it if you want.
- You can use the
button to paste the message to which you are
replying into the body of your reply.
- Also, when you post a message as a reply, it will be added to the existing
thread. It won't create a new thread.
|
If you do not see the Reply or Quote image buttons when viewing a post you
either do not have permissions to reply or the post may not allow replies.
