For two weeks now, the City of Sydney has been busy celebrating Chinese New Year. It's reportedly the biggest Chinese New Years celebration in a city outside of Asia.
After a week of rain and with heaven's blessing, the skies cleared just in time for the annual Chinese New Year parade.
It’s that time of the year again when we Chinese prepare for the Chinese New
Year. If you’re not that familiar with the festival, it’s the beginning of the
new year for us based on the lunar calendar, and involves a lot of eating,
visiting and cleaning!
It is the biggest event of the year and there are a number of traditions, superstitions and activities that make it one of the most celebrated events in the world. To help you understand some of these traditions please read on...
Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge was the focus of the last moments of
2007 as 14 months of preparation culminate in a 10 second countdown to
midnight and then 12 minutes of fireworks explode from the bridge.
In case you missed any of it, here are some photos I took on the night.

It is about 9.30am and team
pontoon has just finished setting up on the slab of concrete we are to call
home for the rest of the day. It is warm and sunny with just a few clouds
hanging about, I sit back in my fold out chair, pick up my bottle of water and think;
“this day is going to be a breeze despite being stranded with Magoo (3 hours of
sleep) and Brad (too much sleep)”.
