Thought I had better write and tell you what's been happening since I was diagnosed with cancer 12 months ago.
First let me say I appreciate the get well wishes and thoughts that various people put on your website. It was much appreciated.
The last 12 months have been a bit of a struggle. During that time I have been having continuous treatment - chemotherapy, operations and radiotherapy. The treatment program finished a couple of weeks before the World Champs. Had some tests last Friday and they have come back all clear. Yeeha!!!!!
I'm out of the woods at this stage but I need to get a check up every three months, get my weight back up (I was down to 62kg a few weeks ago) and de-stress. I've decided to step down from the AusDBF Board at the next AGM and spend more time paddling. I'm thinking that will have a fairly positve effect on my stress levels.
Anyway thanks again for the support I received from ACCA and other well wishers on your website.
Have a great Xmas and hopefully see you paddling next year.
